Photos, a story, and a sermon
Written at Wednesday, January 29, 2014
Constantly in awe at Philip's flickr photos.
Examples below...

(For more great photos like these please check out his Flickr !!!)

Okay who just takes photos like that ok.
WITH THAT KIND OF QUALITY.
I'm really really very impressed with his photos!!

Hahaha may I one day take photos like these too!
{says the one who doesn't even remember what aperture does :P}

And now let me turn your attention away from fabulous photography to...
A story of how I was scammed!!!

One fine day, Zack (from Ebenezer in Melbourne!!!) suddenly whatsapped me with
"Supppp :D" (which is not unlike him)
And of course I was excited to talk to him so we started chatting!
We talked about uni to NS to driving etc. etc. till he asked if I was still in Singapore.
So I was all like ARE YOU IN SG I CAN BRING YOU AROUND
But he totally avoided it and went
"Idk", "If I'm here I'll go to church"
Then me being the non-analytical person I am, said,
"Okay so how was YF?" (Cause it was on Friday and we were talking on Saturday)

AND A CONFUSING CONVERSATION ENSUED.

I really don't think I'm good at describing conversation so can I just write it down?
(har har i did it anyway)

Zack: "YF is starting today silly, but not in Australia"
Gullible Me: "Today is Saturday... Where are you?!"
Z: "Meh hahahahaha"
GM: "You're not in Hong Kong are you? Or did you totally miss YF"
Z: "Am I? ;) Nahhh I'd go... Maybe idk haha"
GM: "But it was yesterdaaaay"
And I was like ZACK WOT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

GM: "You ponned right??" (pon = skip in Malay slang)

Right so there we kinda digressed a little bit but some time later...

Z: "When does your church start anyways? :S"
GM: "10am!"
Z: "My parents said you go to the same church as them when they were in Singapore... Jurong Calvary???"
GM: "Yeah correct spelling!" *pride for my lil' Jurong church*
Z: "Btw my friend told me he's going JURONG tomorrow, so look out for him :)"
GM: "What's his name??"
Z: "Jake, look out for him in church!"
Super GM: "Okay!!! I'll tell you if I saw him!"

Since Zack's parents had been in sg before I wasn't really surprised that he had a friend from Melbourne in Singapore...
And it just so happened that new friend of my sister was coming to church too so I just lumped him and Jake in the same category!

BOY OH BOY WAS I IN FOR A SURPRISE.
Service was normal until 30mins into it...
A group of latecomers came in!
At first I was like "whoa 30 minutes late..!"
So I looked up to see who it was and
SURPRISE!!!
IT WAS ZACK AND HIS PARENTS

I was so shocked y'know!!!
Like my eyes just widened and I could only gape at them in the aisle.
And coincidentally the pew that I was sitting on was quite empty,
So the usher guided them to my pew LOL
I could see Uncle HL grinning like 'heehee we were on it the whole time!' But maybe I was imagining things.
And when Zack slid onto the seat next to me he just smirked and whispered "You mad?"
I was too speechless to reply
.
.
.
Yes so that's the story of how gullible I am and how I managed to meet Zack in Singapore! :)
(hope you figured out that I used one colour for my speech and another for Zack's!)
&& I'm glad he could come for the service in Jurong, that day's sermon was pretty good!!

It was on being a servant for Christ.
(Colossians 1:24-29)
The apostle Paul suffered much persecution for his belief,
but he always believed that God would not forsake him and pressed on.

In Colossians, he mentioned how he rejoiced to suffer for The Lord,
because it meant he was worthy to bear the wounds.

So this teaches us a lesson on how Christ should always be first in our lives!!! (PRE-EMINENCE)
