Hi :) I'm Laura, Joy's friend from Trinity :p

Recently Joy and I have become pretty close buddies because she moved into College Square!
Joy is a fun loving person and she is always cheery and happy ad all the rainbow unicorn stuffs you can think of in one person. Hence, her name :)

At first it was pretty awkward hanging out with her...
but slowly we started opening up to one another.
It took time and A LOT of patience to accept her flaws and stuff,
but now we seem to be able to accept each other comfortably
and help each other become a better person!
For example, Joy tends to take her time into getting ready for things.
so nowadays when I'm meeting up with her,
I tell her that I am going to sit outside her room at a certain time and won't go in until she is done getting ready :)

She has improved a lot and she's now a hardworking girl :)
still distracted by many a things but we're getting there :D
So far, it has been an awesome friendship with Joy^^
She's been so nice to me and been tolerating a lot of my crap :P
we help each other out for academics like pre-labs and other stuff like encouraging other to gym!
but because Joy is a smart girl, she is usually the one helping me!
I feel that I owe her a lot but she always tells me otherwise :P

This girl is an amazing friend and an awesome person :)
I'm real happy and lucky that I got to know her~
I hope that I'm helping her become a better person and she's helping me too!

Thank you Joy for being there :)
I hope that you see me as a good a friend to you like how I see you as my good friend :)

So i just had a deep talk with Laura...
About careers and doing things because of societal expectations (HA SOPHIA! Finally used that phrase).

Doctors
Lawyers
Engineers
Architects

Not arts.

But what if that's the one we're passionate in?
Does money matter?
Do well in what you want to do and the money will follow.

For Laura, her predicament is that she's interested in everythingggg

Like lit, hoi, marine biology, science... You name it, she's probably been interested in it before once!
So which subjects is she supposed to take in uni?

The modules aren't so flexible in Year 2...
So should she conform and just take science to guarantee an average life?

SECURITY OVER INTEREST OVER TRUE PASSION.

The good thing about BSc is that we can still kinda pick and choose our subjects till Year 2 stuff settle down, so we get longer to decide!

Yes so in the duration I will slowly try to whittle down Laura's passions HAHAHA (Laura watch out~)

Oh! And later there's gonna be a information session on Overseas Volunteering, WHICH SOUNDS LIKE THE TIGHTEST THING EVER.

So yes 2 clubs have the abbreviation SSS.
And four seems a little excessive. :P

TBH I wanted to join the skiing club (MUSKI) and touch rug club (UM Touch) too!
But the skiing is held during the holidays, and touch rug is on tuesdays :(

Anyway a little consolation for me is the running man club: even though i'm not an avid fan of it, any games that are designed with the RM concept in mind is ALWAYS fun.

Yes and today's YF was really good!!
It was on the parable of the sower.
Hendrix was the speaker, and the message was about self-reflection on how we react to God's word.
Daily living, as I'd put it.
It was very thought-provoking!
(Good job Hendrix, didn't seem like your 1st time speaking!)

But he accidentally touched on predestination more than he should have and a biiiig can of worms got opened.
Which ensued in a funny and heated discussion.

After that, we had Aunty Shirley's curry chicken (so yum like really wow) and Aunty Poh Lin's (credit for bringing them) samosas!

And then it was fellowship!
Somehow Esther was 100% convinced that a chair in the living room was an ELEPHANT SADDLE, and she went to googleimage "elephant saddle".


Yes, it looked exactly like that.
Just grabbed it off google a few seconds ago.
You should've seen the Esther's passion of validating herself :'D

And we got onto the topic of Flappy Bird.

Sigh and William went around slapping people with his jacket sleeves. *tears of laughter*

Thank God my breadth lecture is on Tuesday.
