What's your ideal personality for a girl?
Written at Friday, April 26, 2013
This was answered by @JaredSohot on ask.fm.
i really like his answers because they're very detailed and are not the usual "idk" "lol no" answers you get on ask.fm :)

IMO there is no ideal type

Everybody's different and not perfect;
I, as hilarious as I am,
have numerous shortcomings that i know
may be interpreted as "not ideal" by a girl,
though i hope she'd accept me the way i am.

So going by that logic,
its unfair for me to categorize people according to their characteristics
into what is "ideal" and what isn't.
Cos i've met really emo-type people that are actually awesome,
and have also been turned off by supposedly nice people.

Anyways, what i'm trying to say is that
every different personality has their own unique appeal that I can't list down all of,
and all that matters is that we can click.

I can list down things for sure that i don't appreciate though
But would it really be necessary?
It's just be the generic things that many people also don't like lorh
Like being excessively bitchy/ slutty/ etcetc
You get the picture x.x

The suburbs
Written at Tuesday, April 23, 2013
Have you ever been to the suburbs?

You should!

Especially at night, when the stars come out...
(and look how they shine for you!)

The suburbs just have a very comforting feel, a homey feel.
Not the rushed stressful vibe of the city.

Not every square metre of space is squeezed with buildings
You feel less restricted

Back to nature

Rolling hills

Honestly, who wouldn't want to be popular?

To have your idol remember you... That's pretty awesome.

Bleh I just... This is will be a quick rant I suppose.

I just... Feel kinda neglected sometimes you know?
I don't know if you do it without realising but everytime you hang out with her, i feel like i'm invisible next to you guys.
This feeling of inadequacy... Usually  i give you the benefit of the doubt, that you're laughing too loudly to hear me but sometimes at night i just can't help but feel so small.

Mm somehow you manage to ignore me...
I'm too soft, maybe?
But repeatedly i ask you the same question and still you don't hear it.

Was trying to join in the conversation but there were no chairs left...
I was stuck standing on the cold floor..
Sighz okay too angsty.

Pardon the bad english my grasp of both english (WHY) and chinese have dropped since i came here.
I have so many things i wanna blog about!

PICTURES OF SKATEBOARD WILL COME SOON.

QT! QT!
Written at Sunday, April 21, 2013
Friday night.
It's not the night to go clubbing, nor partying.

It's YF!
Youth Fellowship!

Throughout the whole week before YF, I occasionally pause and consider not going...
Somehow my brain comes up with pathetic excuses:

i need to study
i'll be too tired after school
it's too far

But then somehow I manage to go.
Somehow. ^_^

It's been three weeks already since I started attending,
and each week either Will/Keene have offered to fetch me there.
Transportation, check.

Judith also recently posted a wake-up call on Facebook that stated the importance of God in our lives:
why stay at home and procrastinate for 5 hours about doing homework,
when you could be sitting in God' House learning more about him? ^_^

And each time after YF I just feel so...
Comforted?
Relieved?
Haha... Like I was just really glad that I decided to go.

Today's message really struck me though!

"QT Habits"

How do non-Christians even cope with life without God ahhh
It's like who do you turn to when you feel down???

Anyway the message was gooood.
It's been way too long since i did QT (Quiet Time)!

QT = reading the bible and learning lessons, a few verses at a time.
 and also TALKING TO GOD!

It's AN APPOINTMENT WITH GOD

Sigh i felt so bad for ditching QT ever so often, just for more sleep or more gaming time...
Kinda like your friend arranged to eat dinner with you but then just stood you up...

(except that this Friend is the CREATOR OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE)

Also I was advised to SING before starting to read the Bible
[to prep my heart to worship God]
It's a novel idea! I think I'll try it. :)

***

Sing, Pray, Read, Pray.
Notice how they're all verbs: this means you have to put in EFFORT when doing QT!
Prayer is repeated because it's important!

***
Cleansing ourselves with the Word using SOAP:

Scripture       [reading the scripture]
Observation  [what lesson can you learn from this portion of scripture?]
Application   [apply it to your life!]
Prayer           [ahbuden]

 ***
And Prayer consists of...

Adoration
Confession
Thanksgiving
Supplication

***

We have to ensure that we keep this appointment with God!

1) we need to DESIRE God.
Just like how we want to meet up with friends, we must also want to meet with God!
God > anything

2) pick your PEAK time to do QT!
Why should we meet God at our lowest energy level, after sports and homework?
We ought to go to Him at our peak!

3) find a good place to do QT
Somewhere where you can be still, and concentrate on the Word.

4) we need the right tools!
e.g daily devotionals (Daily Manna, RPG)
AND also the right ATTITUDE.
don't be a grouchypants when doing QT~

***

Lastly, some tips
Don't be overly ambitious in doing QT! You don't have to finish a whole chapter in one session if your stamina's not that good.
slow and steady wins the race...

Go at your own pace of QT, you don't have to compare with others!
After all what's important is IMPROVEMENT.

NOW GO DO SOME QT

Adelaide-yee-hoo (like a yodel)
Written at Wednesday, April 10, 2013
So hi-ho guise,
I have returned from the land yonder,
ADELAIDE!

I have to say that church camp was really good and I'm glad I decided to go :)
  • Foremostly, i feel that i grew closer to God
    (and that's really important!)
The speaker (Dr Mark Lehman) was so interesting!

  • Secondly, i got to know so many people from Ebenezer better!
    e.g:
    ZACK
    • Judith
    Joel
    Uncle Hou-Lian
    Auntie Christine
    • Auntie Poh Lin
    • Uncle Thomas
    • Lynette
    • Yvonne
    •
    Candy
    • William
     Nat
     Paul
    • Tim
     Uncle Richard
    •
    Auntie Carol
    • Martin
    • Pastor Tan
    •
    Mrs Tan
    •
    Keene

  • Thirdly, i got to know people from Hope BPC! ^_^
Haha they're really really niceeeee omg i feel bad even being with them.
    Felicia washed my laundry even though i didn't ask her to! I didn't bring enough clothes so she offered to ;-;

AND she also baked brownies and cookies for us to eat ahhhh

  • Fourthly, i got to tour Adelaideeee.
The food in Adelaide is delish.
First night: Chinese food for dinner, AB for supper, and then chocolate for night tea!! ^3^
CHOCOLATE TAPERIA IS A MUST-TRY IN ADELAIDE.

The legendary AB
The name supposedly stands for 'Abortion',
but other variants are:
'After Birth',
'Absolutely Beautiful' or
'Atomic Bomb'

A mix of chicken, lamb, chips and garlic sauce!
Kinda like Greek Yiros.

I know it looks disgusting but it tastes terrific ^o^

43 O'Connell Street, North Adelaide!

And Marion brought her Golden Retriever, Rookie, to eat AB with us!
He's so beautiful and well-trained~

And then we went to Chocolate Taperia for dessert.
AH IT WAS HEAVEN

Banana split crepe with chocolate and caramel sauce, and chocolate icecream! Too good.

Mini gelato!

Highlight of the dessert-
Macarons,
chocolate mousse,
caramelised banana tarts,
golden passionfruit cups,
frozen gelato
churritos with dark chocolate sauce...

Mmmm.

Haha this dish's name is so cute!
"Mmmmm & m" HAHA.
Chocolate brownie with m&m's, peanut butter icecream and hot ganache ^_^

Right so that concluded our first night in Adelaide.

Second day: Mini tour around the city!

The first stop was Holdfast Bay, where apparently
THE PIONEER SETTLERS OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA LANDED.
"And Governor Hindmarsh announced the establishment of the government on Dec 28th 1836."
lol hind

The sand was so soft and warm!

And then we went to eat dimsum with Pastor Weng of Hope BPC and his family.
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the dimsum because it was gobbled up immediately after it was set down! Hahaha

OH and after lunch, when we were milling outside the restaurant saying our goodbyes,
this weird wog hobo came up to us and said
"Can't you move?! F**king idiots!"

like lol dude you could've just said excuse me

Anyway Zack and Martin went
"Good job, mate, good job!"

Yes and after that mini commotion we went to drink GONGCHA hahaha
WE BE AZN ALL RIGHT

Royal Milk Tea with Milk Cream~
Apparently oolong milk tea tastes quite bad!! D:

And after that we went to the Adelaide Central Market to look around and see what it had to offer :)
It's a really nice, cozy market...
Somewhat like a wet market in singapore but not wet?
haha i really dk how to explain man.
Maybe it was because it was wood-ish so it felt comforting to walk around in??
HAHA WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME

Anyway Uncle Hou-lian bought a huge latte!!
LOOK AT IT
Look at how small my hands are in comparison to the cup.
(And bear in mind that i do not have a small hand.)

Ha, then Keene came back with a bunch of grapes for $4.99...
Then Uncle Hou-lian went to buy another bunch for $1.99.

It was a sad moment...
Keene tried to console himself that his grapes were sweeter and juicier
even though we conducted a blind taste test and proved him wrong x)

I AM SORRY IF THIS POST HAS BEEN BORING
I'M JUST UPDATING MY LIFE HERE
SO I CAN REFER TO IT
WHEN I'M 80 YEARS OLD
AND
TELLING MY GRANDKIDS MY LIFE STORY

So after Central Market we went to this parkland and just...
ENJOYED LIFE.

Lush green grass and tall trim hedges!
Magnificent mushrooms and galloping grapes!

(There was also a war memorial there, dedicated to the soldiers who fought in WWI and the women who encouraged them on.)

Anyway i tried to balance on the top of the hedges and got pricked :'(
But the main point was the grapes and grass!
We had a wondrous grape tossing session ^_^
Zack is amazing at catching tossed grapes with his mouth haha.
And to top it off he can catch them when thrown by SOMEONE ELSE!
Although he sucks at catching self-thrown grapes hahaha sorry zack ^_^

Sadly the grape tossing photos are with Keene...
i will get him to Dropbox them to me and then edit this post! :D

Then we went for dindinz, KUCHING LAKSA!

Haha omg so ashamed of myself.
i couldn't stand the spiciness and kept on drinking soy milk...

And everyone was like, "Aren't you Singaporean? Singaporeans can take chilli!!"
;-;
#failure

And Fel and Sam came over to eat AB again with us for supper~
They were too nice to us!!!

AHAH then after a bout of talking we decided to play

/cue horror music/
Or at least we appointed Sam to play it and we watched.

And although Fel had a job interview the next day she still stayed and watched!
Hahaha actually it's not that scary, the storyline really pulls you in!
I don't mind watching someone play it again wheehoo.

But after we stopped playing, everything in the house seemed so much more scary.
when things go bump in the night

Anddd the next morning we set off home to Melbourne!
I have to say that I am really considering Melbourne my third home now
(second is defo NANHUA )
Because it's so lovely.

Ending off this über long post with a picture of the scenery from the roadtrip home~

    Personality
Written at Wednesday, April 10, 2013
So recently i had one of my friends tell me, "you're shy but outgoing!"
And apparently that's good in a way :)

    According to Google I'm a shy extrovert~
Which is slightly different from an outgoing introvert.

A shy extrovert would be energized around people but more reserved and susceptible to being socially awkward (at least in their minds, they would be).

An outgoing introvert would be more assertive and social and would have a longer battery run time during socialising. However, they would drain out during socialising and need to "recharge" in solititude.

Yeah, i guess i'm a little shy at times...
There are times when i want to insert a reference or punny joke into a conversation, but can't seem to catch the right time to put it in (or risk being awkward)

Just some quick thoughts before bed, a loong post is on its way! ;)
