2nd day of Spain~
Visited the Cathedral of El Pilar in Zaragoza!!
It's really pretty and huge!
Did you know that rich families bought certain naves in the church to hold their own private Mass? o.O
And then we explored the streets of Zaragoza, and had churros in hot chockie!
Haha we even had pistachio&chocolate icecream!!
In 10 degree weather.
Heh then we travelled to Madrid...
And the first place we stopped at was BERNABEU!!!
The Real Madrid Football Club's home!!!
Unfortunately our tour didn't have many football fans so we didn't buy tickets to enter :(
We only took photos with its exterior!
Then this creepy looking Spanish Elmo came up to us and took photos with us.
For what, i shall never know.
Is Elmo the mascot of the Real Madrid FC? :/
And since by then it was too late to do any sight seeing,
We were brought to this high end department store: El Cortes Ingles!
And given 3h shopping time.
And basically since everything was too expensive, we were bored :(
{Louis Vuitton, Mui Mui, Prada, Jimmy Choo, Chanel Perfume, you name it, they have it}
And then it was dinner and zzz time.
On the third day ->
We travelled again!
This time from Madrid to Toledo.
The ex-capital of Spain.
Toledo is split into two, the old city (within the walls) and the new city (outside the walls).
Many people prefer to live outside but the inside is the tourist attraction!!
By the way, the entire city of Toledo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site... That's quite an achievement!
First we went up the mountainside to get a panoramic view of the Toledo. With the sun it was SO SO PRETTY!!! I shall try to upload some pictures... Watch this space!
Anyway we went back down to have a walking tour of the old part of Toledo.
The best part came when we saw the Cathedral of Toledo. (Saint Mary's Cathedral)
I don't know how many times I've repeated myself but this cathedral was MAGNIFICENT. Its outside design was really geometrical and pretty! And inside was full of cool designs. And gold plated walls. And cardinals' tombs. (say what?)
After a quick lunch at a Spanish maccas, we travelled baaaack to Madrid.
(Glad to say i've made friends with some people on the tour already!)
We explored the Royal Palace-
Real means royal in Madrid so Real Madrid F.C is Royal Madrid F.C!!!
#mindblown
Did you know the Royal Palace has 2800 rooms and boasts the full quintet collection of the Stradivarius??
Must really thank God for good weather cause it was raining when we left Madrid but the sun was shining really brightly when we got back!!! :)
After the Royal Palace, a tour around Madrid and i have to say this- the crowds are CRAZY. It's the true meaning of 人山人海!
A stop by the Park (Parque de Madrid) to take some photos with the setting sun as lighting <3
Gah it was toooo pretty.
And then we had tapas for dinner!
It was pretty cool and delicious, i'd eat it again!
My sis got pulled into a photo with members attending a Spanish wedding HAHAHA.
After that: *~zzz~*
THANK YOU for bearing with this long post!!
Since i'm only posting this on the morning of the 4th day, today we'll be going to SERGOVIA!!!
It'll be really cold, 0 degrees (unlike the 10 we've finally become.accustomed to) D:
Our tour guide made a bet with the driver about whether there'd be snow!
Yes snow- we all buy him red wine.
No snow- he buys the whole tour red wine HAHAHA.
Let's see how things play out later!
I really really don't like vulgarities :/
Hey, if you've ever heard me say a vulgarity before, you might think i'm being a hypocrite.
And i apologise for saying those words.
After reflecting, i've come to see them as redundant words that don't taste or sound good.
And...
Especially if said in a joking manner.
Is it very funny to make sexual yo mama jokes? D:
How am i supposed to tell the group to not say vulgarities?
If i do, i'm a spoilsport. And then they can't have their 'fun' anymore. :L
But i really... Ugh when they start using the f word i just glaze over the entire conversation and end up being lost. :(
Buenos dias!
Hola from Zaragoza- thank God for wifi.
So it was a smooth 14h flight from sg to Barcelona :)
Do the math:
Departed 0040,
Flew 14h,
Spain is 7h behind sg (GMT +1)
What time did i arrive in Barcelona?
Ehhh it was so smooth except for the landing!!!
The plane swerved from left to right when it landed T^T
And then we saw many amazing buildings in the city centre!!
I can't remember all the names now but they were all breathtaking.
And we also got to pass by the Olympic Park!
Barcelona hosted the Olympics in 1992.
Ah but the Sagrada Familia was the best.
It's a church designed by Antoni Gaudi (d 1926), and still undergoing construction!!
The details are just wow.
STAINED GLASS TOOOOO
Then we had a 4h drive to Zaragoza :)
Food and accommodation are A+ so far!
This is so dumb
I can't even watch Life of Pi properly -.-
Bloody roller coasters
Gah so stupiak.
Anyway in Bandung nao~ Everything is so cheap! Hope I can enjoy this holiday to the fullest :D
NTS; stay busy all day everyday! keep your mind preoccupiedddd
