I realise
how awesome I am
I love myself
A poem by Giselle
GISELLE PLEASE DON'T INTERRUPT LOSERRRR
Anyway I realise that people are actually really really fortunate to not lose their body parts!
Like, nothing beats the original "technology" of the human body.
How fast can a prosthetic hand move compared to the involuntary actions of withdrawing our hands from a hot stove?
And prosthetic legs, they can't bend and jump and lope and spring.
You can't wriggle your toes, can't point your foot.
Ah all that freedom gone!
I used to always think that surviving a car crash would be cool.
Like whoa I'm in a wheelchair and i have a cast and shit
But then I realised:
after an accident,
even a simple fall,
your body just isn't the same anymore.
Your body will be flawed.
It was made perfect.
And with a cut or a burn or a break, it will lose that state of perfection.
Since birth, we are all slowly becoming flawed, but injury speeds that up.
So I have learnt to treasure my body
And try not to get into scrapes.
Sure, a cast might look cool, but what are the chances of you being able to jump as high as before?
