Adelaide-yee-hoo (like a yodel)
Written at Wednesday, April 10, 2013
So hi-ho guise,
I have returned from the land yonder,
ADELAIDE!

I have to say that church camp was really good and I'm glad I decided to go :)
  • Foremostly, i feel that i grew closer to God
    (and that's really important!)
The speaker (Dr Mark Lehman) was so interesting!

  • Secondly, i got to know so many people from Ebenezer better!
    e.g:
    ZACK
    • Judith
    Joel
    Uncle Hou-Lian
    Auntie Christine
    • Auntie Poh Lin
    • Uncle Thomas
    • Lynette
    • Yvonne
    •
    Candy
    • William
     Nat
     Paul
    • Tim
     Uncle Richard
    •
    Auntie Carol
    • Martin
    • Pastor Tan
    •
    Mrs Tan
    •
    Keene

  • Thirdly, i got to know people from Hope BPC! ^_^
Haha they're really really niceeeee omg i feel bad even being with them.
    Felicia washed my laundry even though i didn't ask her to! I didn't bring enough clothes so she offered to ;-;

AND she also baked brownies and cookies for us to eat ahhhh

  • Fourthly, i got to tour Adelaideeee.
The food in Adelaide is delish.
First night: Chinese food for dinner, AB for supper, and then chocolate for night tea!! ^3^
CHOCOLATE TAPERIA IS A MUST-TRY IN ADELAIDE.

The legendary AB
The name supposedly stands for 'Abortion',
but other variants are:
'After Birth',
'Absolutely Beautiful' or
'Atomic Bomb'

A mix of chicken, lamb, chips and garlic sauce!
Kinda like Greek Yiros.

I know it looks disgusting but it tastes terrific ^o^

43 O'Connell Street, North Adelaide!

And Marion brought her Golden Retriever, Rookie, to eat AB with us!
He's so beautiful and well-trained~

And then we went to Chocolate Taperia for dessert.
AH IT WAS HEAVEN

Banana split crepe with chocolate and caramel sauce, and chocolate icecream! Too good.

Mini gelato!

Highlight of the dessert-
Macarons,
chocolate mousse,
caramelised banana tarts,
golden passionfruit cups,
frozen gelato
churritos with dark chocolate sauce...

Mmmm.

Haha this dish's name is so cute!
"Mmmmm & m" HAHA.
Chocolate brownie with m&m's, peanut butter icecream and hot ganache ^_^

Right so that concluded our first night in Adelaide.

Second day: Mini tour around the city!

The first stop was Holdfast Bay, where apparently
THE PIONEER SETTLERS OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA LANDED.
"And Governor Hindmarsh announced the establishment of the government on Dec 28th 1836."
lol hind

The sand was so soft and warm!

And then we went to eat dimsum with Pastor Weng of Hope BPC and his family.
Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the dimsum because it was gobbled up immediately after it was set down! Hahaha

OH and after lunch, when we were milling outside the restaurant saying our goodbyes,
this weird wog hobo came up to us and said
"Can't you move?! F**king idiots!"

like lol dude you could've just said excuse me

Anyway Zack and Martin went
"Good job, mate, good job!"

Yes and after that mini commotion we went to drink GONGCHA hahaha
WE BE AZN ALL RIGHT

Royal Milk Tea with Milk Cream~
Apparently oolong milk tea tastes quite bad!! D:

And after that we went to the Adelaide Central Market to look around and see what it had to offer :)
It's a really nice, cozy market...
Somewhat like a wet market in singapore but not wet?
haha i really dk how to explain man.
Maybe it was because it was wood-ish so it felt comforting to walk around in??
HAHA WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME

Anyway Uncle Hou-lian bought a huge latte!!
LOOK AT IT
Look at how small my hands are in comparison to the cup.
(And bear in mind that i do not have a small hand.)

Ha, then Keene came back with a bunch of grapes for $4.99...
Then Uncle Hou-lian went to buy another bunch for $1.99.

It was a sad moment...
Keene tried to console himself that his grapes were sweeter and juicier
even though we conducted a blind taste test and proved him wrong x)

I AM SORRY IF THIS POST HAS BEEN BORING
I'M JUST UPDATING MY LIFE HERE
SO I CAN REFER TO IT
WHEN I'M 80 YEARS OLD
AND
TELLING MY GRANDKIDS MY LIFE STORY

So after Central Market we went to this parkland and just...
ENJOYED LIFE.

Lush green grass and tall trim hedges!
Magnificent mushrooms and galloping grapes!

(There was also a war memorial there, dedicated to the soldiers who fought in WWI and the women who encouraged them on.)

Anyway i tried to balance on the top of the hedges and got pricked :'(
But the main point was the grapes and grass!
We had a wondrous grape tossing session ^_^
Zack is amazing at catching tossed grapes with his mouth haha.
And to top it off he can catch them when thrown by SOMEONE ELSE!
Although he sucks at catching self-thrown grapes hahaha sorry zack ^_^

Sadly the grape tossing photos are with Keene...
i will get him to Dropbox them to me and then edit this post! :D

Then we went for dindinz, KUCHING LAKSA!

Haha omg so ashamed of myself.
i couldn't stand the spiciness and kept on drinking soy milk...

And everyone was like, "Aren't you Singaporean? Singaporeans can take chilli!!"
;-;
#failure

And Fel and Sam came over to eat AB again with us for supper~
They were too nice to us!!!

AHAH then after a bout of talking we decided to play

/cue horror music/
Or at least we appointed Sam to play it and we watched.

And although Fel had a job interview the next day she still stayed and watched!
Hahaha actually it's not that scary, the storyline really pulls you in!
I don't mind watching someone play it again wheehoo.

But after we stopped playing, everything in the house seemed so much more scary.
when things go bump in the night

Anddd the next morning we set off home to Melbourne!
I have to say that I am really considering Melbourne my third home now
(second is defo NANHUA )
Because it's so lovely.

Ending off this über long post with a picture of the scenery from the roadtrip home~
